Crema catalana, or Trinity cream, is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel and is similar to crème brûlée. Whereas crème brûlée is flavored with vanilla, crema catalana is flavored with cinnamon and lemon zest.
